How Does It Work?

Refirm is a laser treatment that heats specific areas of the skin to stimulate collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin. Patients will usually schedule between three to five treatments, depending on the severity of the wrinkles and the state of their skin. Multiple treatments are scheduled three or four weeks apart so that there is enough time to heal in between treatments. Most patients will also continue with follow-up treatments every six months for optimal results.

The treatment itself is virtually painless for most people, but everyone has different thresholds of discomfort. If you find that the treatment is uncomfortable for you, there are available options like topical anesthesia or cold compresses, to make Refirm more comfortable for you.

One of the best aspects of Refirm is that there is virtually no recovery time. It only takes approximately 45 minutes to one hour to complete the procedure, and most patients can go home and continue normal daily activities right after treatment.

I had my first treatment in March and about to have my second treatment June 17. I liked it, I had it on my neck, jowls and face. This time around I am not having it done on my neck quite simply because I don't need it.

What To Expect: Physical and Social Down Time.

Following the treatment, no recovery time is necessary and patients will be able to return to your daily activities. As a result, the patient can easily schedule your ReFirme treatment during your lunch hour or between other appointments.

Following ReFirme treatment, we recommend that you practice meticulous skin care to maintain results. This includes avoiding excessive sun and UV exposure, using a gentle cleanser and Hydration Crème with Sunscreen hydrating moisturizer recommended by the patients' doctors. Conscientious skin care extends the effects of Collagen Remodeling, maximizing the benefits of the ReFirme treatment and will ultimately increase the length of time between maintenance sessions. In most cases, the patients can enjoy the results of ReFirme therapy for up to 18-24 months before recommended twice yearly maintenance treatments are needed.
