Spider Vein Treatment

Simple laser vein treatment is done on the outside of your skin. It can treat spider veins just under the skin's surface. Usually, more than one laser session is needed. They are scheduled every 6 to 12 weeks, as prescribed by your doctor.

The number of treatments necessary depends on the amount, color and size of the vessels being treated. This technology offers our clients an alternative to invasive vascular treatments.

How Does It Work?

This technique sends very strong bursts of light through the skin onto the vein. This makes the vein slowly fade and disappear. Not all skin types and colors can be safely treated with lasers. No needles or incisions are used, but the heat from the laser can be quite painful. Cooling helps reduce the pain. Laser treatments last for 15 to 20 minutes. Generally, 2 to 5 treatments are needed to remove spider veins in the legs. Laser therapy usually isn’t effective for varicose veins larger than 3 mm (about a tenth of an inch). You can return to normal activity right after treatment.

What To Expect: Physical and Social Down Time

After the procedure the patient will notice a reduction in your spider veins. With laser ablation, some veins may disappear after one treatment while others may take longer. With either treatment, multiple procedures are required for optimal results. The patient will be able to walk following the treatment, and recovery typically is short. Patients are likely to be able to return to their normal daily routine after simple laser treatment.
